If you want great bass in your home theater, look no further than the Klipsch SPL-120. This sub pounds out the bass. In fact, I had to turn down the volume level on some discs to avoid shaking the entire room. Even though this sub has similar specs compared to the previous model’s 12″ woofer, the SPL-120 has a Class D output stage that makes this sub truly stand out. Although the price may look overly priced, this subwoofer really gives you your money’s worth. Read more

This thing is a beast. I’ve tried the Synergy 10″, the Reference 12″ and the buck stops here with the SPL 12″. The “long throw” woofer makes a huge difference along with the Class D amp. This thing picks up lows that the previous models I had couldn’t. The power delivery is smooth but “punchy” when it needs to be. It’s about 15lbs heavier than the Reference model. Here’s my breakdown of the three: Synergy – best for music and best for pairing with a budget sound bar. Reference – best for movies and music but better paired with a high end, high quality sound bar. SPL – for serious enthusiasts, great for all applications but best paired with a complete system equipped with a center channel, bookshelf or tower speakers connected to a receiver. It easily over powers my sound bar, even when it’s adjusted. Read more

This is a great subwoofer! Wow… I don’t listen at extreme levels, but where my old 10″ Polk sub would struggle during some movie scenes, this thing just loosens the foundation of the house! It’s really not massive in size, especially considering the low frequencies it can reproduce and the levels at which it does so. Highly recommended! Read more

Pros: Easy to set up with the LFE hook up. Easy to calibrate with the Yamaha RX-V485BL 5.1 YPAO Compliments the pair of RP-600m’s and RP-504c I purchased with it. Bass is spot on and clean Juke Box Hero, BASS!!! Hate Myself For Loving You, BASS!!! Absolutely pleasing on the eyes and ears. Cons: PITA to unbox and maneuver into position as it is a bit heavy. Used as add-on bass module to my existing home theatre surround sound system. It shakes the house. Using in the basement but the thump goes all the way to the 2nd floor. Was not too sure when I ordered it but loved it when I plugged it in. Now I have a great combination of Bose, Klipsch and Yamaha all in one integrated surround sound that shakes the floor if you go half way to the volume level. Love the detailed lower frequencies even in a very low volume level. Go for it! Read more
