I bought it for my Nintendo Switch to connect with AirPods. It takes less 20 seconds to discover and pair. As shown in the video, I plugged in the transmitter, clicked and hold the A button for few seconds, the light started flashing. After that, I clicked the button on my AirPods to trigger pair mode. Then, they were successfully connected and the light became solid. The audio quality is great with no latency. The unit is very small so I can put it in my Switch case. It is portable and useful while traveling. Overall, I recommend this product to you if you are looking for a portable transmitter.Read more

I was currently using the older Guilikit Route+ Bluetooth adapter, which was an amazing little device that made it easy to use my Bluetooth headphones with not only my Nintendo Switch but with various other USB devices. It was great to not be tethered to my Switch with long wires while commuting on the train. It also had a pass-through port that allowed you to charge the Nintendo Switch while continuing to use the dongle. My one main dislike about it was that it stuck out from the bottom of the Switch if I decided to lean the switch on a table while I was playing, which put pressure on the USB connector on both the Switch and the Route+, which made it an easy breaking point. However, in comes the newer GuliKit Route Air, which significantly improves the previous dongle with very few cons. The new and slimmer form factor sits flush with the bottom of the Nintendo Switch and doesn’t stick out as previously. The unit itself now has two A & B buttons, which allows you to sync two headsets with the dongle and 4 LED status lights (shows you how many devices you have connected and which Bluetooth protocol it’s using.) It came in a nice plastic case with a USB C to USB A converter so you can connect it to your PC or any other USB capable device. It also has a plastic piece that the dongle sits on so it protects the USB C port whenever it’s not plugged in, so it doesn’t break by accident if you have it in a bag or case.Pairing a device is simple, you connect the dongle and hold either the A or B button for 4 seconds while your headset is in pairing mode. It then quickly connects and shows you if it’s using SBC, aptX or aptX Low Latency. Unlike the Route +, whenever I would unplug the Route Air and plug it back it in, my headset would immediately reconnect. On the Route + it would sometimes take a few seconds or even need the headset to be re-synced before it would connect. I was using a pair of Shure SE215-BT2’s and connected via the aptX LL protocol to the Route Air. The audio was great and I didn’t notice any lag between the action in the game and the audio. Now depending on your needs, you might see this as a con. Unfortunately, due to it’s slimmer profile, there is no USB pass-through to allow you to contentiously use your Bluetooth headset and charge the Nintendo Switch. If you have one of the newer Nintendo Switch units with improved battery life or a Nintendo Switch Lite, then this might not be that big of an issue for you. Also, depending on which case you’re using with the Nintendo Switch, this unit might not fit 100%. I normally use a full size shell case with my Switch. As you can see with the picture, I managed to squeeze in the Nintendo Switch with the dongle plugged in but this isn’t a preferred way to use it. This isn’t the fault of the device, just have to make sure the case you’re using has a notch big enough to fit in the wider size. You could use an adapter to extend it but then it defeats the purpose of the dongle being low profile.Overall, I’m very satisfied with the quality and ease of use with the GuliKit Route Air and probably won’t use anything else unless GuliKit updates the Route Air with a USB Pass-through charging port. It’s a shame the Nintendo Switch doesn’t do Bluetooth natively but this is definitely a great solution to that problem.Read more

So far, the bluetooth adapter does the job well. I plugged it into my Switch first, paired to my headphones and I was good to go. The slim profile is as advertised. There was no audio lag as far as I can tell on a sets of headphones I’ve used. That’s a great thing for gaming. Then this morning, I paired it to my PC using the USB-C to USB-A adapter that is included in the packaging as seen in one of the photos. When listening to music from Spotify the lag wasn’t noticeable, YouTube was a different story as there was noticeable lag when people were talking on screen. Before I make a final call on the lag, I’ll have to try it with another pair of bluetooth headphones because the ones I’m using don’t have the aptX codec included. It’s probably the headphones and not the adapter. It also includes a little protector for the bluetooth adapter that clips to the back of it when not in use. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the packaging also, I would suggest putting instructions in the package. That is the only thing that is missing. Taking note of the instructions in the Amazon Description is the best way to know how to use the bluetooth adapter. So here are the instructions again:Setting up the adapter: Set your Bluetooth earphones to pairing status. Then insert ROUTE AIR, hold the pairing button A or B 4 seconds into pairing mode with blinking white LED. Pairing is successful once LED turns to constant white. And do not need to pair again next time.If you want to unpair your Bluetooth adapter from your headphones, please follow these steps:First, turn off the Bluetooth headset;Second, long press the previous pairing button to re-enter the Bluetooth adapter into pairing mode.As long as the adapter is in pairing mode while your headset is not, their previous pairing will be lifted. It’s a great system and I’m going to keep exploring to see what I can pair with it.Read more

Works pretty much as advertised. I love the size as it is barley noticeable and almost looks like it’s part of the Switch. I also love that it will connect to two Bluetooth devices at once. However, it connects to some devices better than others. The first time I connected my AirPods 2 they cut in and out sometimes they would cut out for long periods. I also noticed a considerable delay. I then connected my Sony noise canceling headphones and they worked perfect with no delay at all. In fact the sound was. Amazing. I eventually tried various Bluetooth receivers and they all worked with varying degrees. Some worked great, others with a slight delays and a few would cut in and out. If you have a microphone on your Bluetooth device it will not work with this adapter. Ultimately, I am happy because they work good enough with my main Sony headphones and the convenience of the size.Read more
