Got this for my garage to replace the old Pioneer 5.1 home system a friend gave me.I have two speakers in the garage and two Yamaha outdoor speakers out on the patio. The Yamaha speakers were always dull. I’d have to turn the volume way up to hear them, making the ones in the garage way too loud. I had gotten a switch splitter, but I’d have to turn off the ones in the garage. So, basically the Pioneer receiver just didn’t have the power needed. (Yamahas I think are 100-150w and ones in garage are 60w.) Plus only needed L/R channels. So looking into something that could handle both sets of speakers independently I came across this Pyle PTA44BT unit.- I like that it has separate channels and volume controls for each. It also seems to have some overload protection as I was messing with the speaker wire and I could see the unit struggling and realized it was compensating for having the bare wires connecting to each other. Yamaha speakers sound great now.- Bluetooth took awhile to figure out. MODE has to be set to BT and the Input to MP3. Otherwise silence. Connected fine. Range is good.- Microphone-In is amusing. The echo effect is great to mess around with. Daughter got a kick out of it singing along with songs.- Controls are simple, dials work great, and everything is labeled neatly. Would be nice if the MP3 input showed MP3/BT though.- Unit itself is smaller than the Pioneer unit it replaced, so once I take ithe Pioneer down, should free up a little space.- Included FM antenna is a bit goofy as the connection for the FM on the unit is different than the wire, but it somehow connected and works.I haven’t tried the MP3 player yet, that will be my next usage, instead of aux/DVD input from mobile device using Amazon Prime Music.Update 10/8:USB works great. Seems to go in alphabetical order. Can use remote to skip around.Unit also came with a card to leave a review on Amazon to support the product. Then send a link to it to I did so, but didn’t receive it. It is just a microphone that can be used with this, as I have one already it’s not a big deal.Still using it in the garage, it is awesome.Read more

I really wanted to like this, it seemed perfect. Arrived, knobs feel solid, good heft to the product. Provides plenty of wattage to crank the sound. The bad: Not stereo sound! It mixes left and right into mono that goes to all speakers. I noticed the on the first go round but ran myself in circles shopping for a receiver and pulled the trigger on this fellow as the deadline approached. Still, I was sure there had to be a mistake… but no. No. Stereo. Sound. The weird: In my troubleshooting of the lack of stereo, I discovered that even after you select bluetooth mode, the input knob has to be turned all the way to the right, to MP3, for it to play the bluetooth connection.I also had a little difficulty with the bluetooth – pairing was a snap to my google home hub but bt audio was choppy at times, and the units were only about 12-15″ apart, though it was going through a couple layers of wooden cabinetry. Moving the bt antennae and scooting the google hub around, I found a sweet spot that seemed to hold strong.I returned this and got PT506BT and love it! BT connection is rock solid on the PT506BT (different antennae), and it’s sitting in the exact same spot. There’s no multi-zone on that model, but I installed inwall volume controls anyway, so I really didn’t need discrete zones.Read more

This is a mono output unit. Not stereo. One channel. Don’t even try to figure it out! Bluetooth connected right away, sounds decent for the price. Not stereo. Ughhhhhh. What would anyone use this for? Even being used as a karaoke machine, wouldn’t you want a normal stereo mix for your backing tracks so the mic input can sit in the middle leaving good headroom all around? I think this is flat out false advertising since they say “stereo” in the title. But I guess you can argue they are putting that in for key words so you’ll find the product in a search. In case people these days still search for an amp by calling it a “stereo” (noun.)Read more

Using this to power 3 pairs of outdoor speakers around my patio and pool. Very powerful amplifier – can get much louder than I need it to. Bluetooth reception is good to around 50′ away on this model. The FM receiver is a bit frustrating to use, but I use this for streaming music so not a problem for me. Do be aware that even though this is listed as “stereo” it only has mono outputs – i.e. every speaker plays the same thing. This is actually good for outdoor speakers which are often difficult when used in stereo. The 4 zone volume control makes it very nice for my use, as I can put speakers louder in the pool area, and quieter in the lanai where people are closer to the speakers. Sound is adequate but not exceptional. Certainly good enough for outdoors and the price can’t be beat.Read more

We purchased the Pyle PTA44BT to serve as the source for our whole-house stereo system. When we bought the house, the speakers were already installed, but the previous owners took their amplifier with them. After reading the specifications posted for the product, we thought this unit would best serve our needs…and it turned out we were right. Installation was a breeze (just hooking up the speaker wires, actually) and the unit instructions, although spartan, were certainly adequate to get us started. Blue-tooth pairing was simple and the unit was able to pick up most local radio stations on auto-scan. We hooked up three pairs of speakers, and all three could be played simultaneously without distortion. I would have appreciated AM reception as well, but that can be gotten through an iPhone or other streaming device. Other reviewers have chided the manufacturer for irrelevant issues such as damage during shipping. I cannot vouch for Pyle’s customer services–as some reviewers have mentioned–as we did not need to avail ourselves of them. For the money and the capabilities, this unit would be hard to beat. An audiophile might be able to quibble on some features and capabilities, but for the “average” listener, this unit is well above average. Recommended!Read more
