I purchased these for my Giro MIPS helmet on the recommendation of numerous online outlets, including Amazon. In summary: believe the hype. Took these out for the time on the slopes this season and they did not disappoint. I’m a musician and audio snob and I was duly impressed by the sound quality at various levels. I enjoyed Joni Mitchell’s “mingus” on several lifts at a moderate volume levels and it was pure magic. As for hands free phone use, again, this really wowed me. I had to connect with friends on the mountain a couple times and operation was seamless – just followed the directions. I did not use them *while* riding as I do not believe that is safe, so I cannot comment on that use case. The price difference between wired and wireless is steep. But with all the crap you have to worry about on the mounting, the last thing I wanna deal with is wires. If you’ve got the cash or credit, do these.Read more

These are severely overpriced for what you get. I can understand paying $80+ for something like this 5-6yrs ago but Bluetooth technology has been around long enough that these should have come down in price. Ended up buying a different brand that sound/work equally as well and paid $45.Read more

I found the setup easy. I read reviews about complaints on setup but did not experience them myself. Sound quality for music is average. Music through a ski helmet has it limitations for sound quality. Sound quality on phone calls is good. No issues hearing caller or caller hearing/understanding me. Features to answer call, play music, pause, skip to next song, change volume are easy once you get use to the pattern but it does take time to get it down. battery life is excellent. I could ski all day listening to music and talking on the phone with no issues. I always recharge over night so I don’t really know how long the battery will last. I love the product and won’t go skiing without it.Read more

They aren’t bad. They are overpriced but luckily I was able to get the certified refurbished ones for cheaper. They fit nicely in the ear slots of my snowboard helmet but they are still a little thick so it kind of pushes hard against my ears. I also noticed that when they are in I can barely hear anything else even with no music playing like block outside sound. One other bad thing is that when the music is paused, there is a buzzing sound which is super annoying.Read more

Controls work well. Bluetooth pairing not so much.Sound is OK – Good if able to hold the unit close to ear — something my snowboard helmet is just so-so at doing.Problem I have is Bluetooth Pairing…always seems to be pain in the a–. Not certain but doubt the problem is me. One morning I gave up and hit the slopes without them.Read more

Like I can swap em between different motorcycle helmets. Also put em in stocking caps. Very versatile. Surprised how good the bluetooth connection is have to get pretty far away b4 started get sketchy sound. Love these things.Read more

I don’t like having earbuds in when skiing. This helmet-oriented setup works well, sounds good, and since it’s in the helmet, not my ear, it feels like the music is near me, not in my head. I would like there to be more nuanced volume control on the low end – it’s either off or a bit louder than I need. But overall good additionRead more

Maybe it is my helmet, but I couldn’t even wear the helmet once I put the Chips in the ears.Read more
