Arrived packaged a little loosely. The Jack box was basically floating in the much larger Amazon box, but there wasn’t any damage. This is the same jack you’ll find on many new campers. I have an older (2004) camper so I was a little worried about fitment. I removed my old jack in about a minute and I half. By the naked eye I was thinking I might have to move my tank rack back a hair, which might mean also adjusting the battery tray location, but I was very pleasantly surprised when I slid the new Jack in the hole everything lined up and no more work was needed. It does lightly touch the tank cover, but I don’t see an issue with it at all. Remember you’ll have to get a connection for the end of the wire to hook to your battery, but that’s understandable as different units have different hook ups. To be fair I’ve only ran it up and down a couple times since installing, but it’s quiet and smooth. It was extremely easy to install and looks great. I did purchase a cover for the power head, but i wasn’t worried at all about being weather proof, I just want to protect it from sun fading etc.. they’re available for around $10. This is a great Jack, that is reasonably priced. It’s a piece of cake to install and hook up and is an rv industry standard Jack. My old sore shoulders wish I would have done this sooner! It was literally a 10 minute job removing the old Jack and installing this one.Read more

I got this for my Jayco Jayflight SLX 14RB. This jack is over kill for that size camper but I wanted one that was well built and works smooth. This fits that bill. Works just as fast as when I would crank the manual. And on a hot day it’s well worth the money. The reason I gave it 4 stars is would it really have hurt the profit margin to throw a cover in for the control head. I can understand no battery terminal connector on end of the hook up wire since there is a variety of ways to hook into different batteries but a cover for the control head would have been a nice touch. I had to buy that separate. All in all I am well pleased with the product. Instructions are next to useless but it’s easy to hook up and operate. Has a light too that’s pretty nifty on a dark night.Read more

I purchased this model as a replacement to Lippert’s “Smart Jack.” Please see reviews of that model before buying, as many people, including me, had problems with the jack inexplicably retracting without warning!! I purchased Lippert again, since the base of the jack attached to the trailer tongue in the same way as the original, and this jack had good reviews. I must say, it was a breeze to install, and it lined up perfectly with the old bolt attachment holes. In less than an hour, the old jack was removed and the new one was replaced. Those who feel that this jack is slow haven’t had much experience with electric jacks! This model operates as fast as any of the rest of the group! Would buy again!Read more

My first Lippert 285318 3500LB Power Tongue Jack Black was installed on my Airstream before I noticed the top cover had a crack in it. Amazon sent a replacement. That replacement now has the light coming on when in the off position. This started after having a few days of rain. You can turn the light on and it is brighter and then turn it off. After a while, the light starts to gradually come back on. Think what damage this would do if the other switch that operates the tongue jack started to raise or lower the camper, at the least, the levelers would be damaged if stationary! If travel down the road in the rain worse could happen. I disconnected the wire to take the power off the tongue jack. I am unable to get a replacement or money back since I am now 14 days past the return date for Amazon, even though it has a 1-year guarantee!Read more

Was way quieter then I expected it to be. Super easy to put on our camper. Very pleased so far with the purchase. We can even open up our tail gate on our Ford F-250 Super Duty. Would recommend this product to friends and family. The video sounds loud but when you are right there it isn’t that loud.Read more

INSTALLED ON A Sandstorm 21SLC tow hauler. I added a crimp on battery connector and ran that to my 12v batteries. Powers up and down nicely. Its slow, but smooth, so i use blocks of 2×10 stacked, and screwed together to set the footpad on, so i dont have to wait for the ENTIRE leg to drop. lifts my 1000lb tongue weight trailer. the supplied 3/8 bolts are not grade 8 hardware like the originals, but they got stripped when i removed them with my impact gun. So i was not able to reuse the Grade 8 stuff. I will eventually replace the stock ones with actual grade 8 bolts. It has an inline fuse attached, and built in light works. Overall great looking and well constructed unit.Read more

Just purchased this jack for our 30′ TT. Installation was pretty straight forward. The bottom shaft of the jack is 2 1/4″ and our lower guide/support hole was 2 3/16, so I had to enlarge it ever so slightly. Mounting holes differed just a hair, so we lengthened the slots for the bolts and used washers on top. No big deal. The hardware included was cheap no grade stuff, so we used grade 8 instead. One wire hookup and inline fuse was supplied-very thoughtful of them.Jack operates just as it should. It may be a little on the slow side, but it is geared to pick up almost 2 tons, so it is understandable. Jack picks up our 1000# tounge weight and the back of our 3/4 ton truck enough so that I can get the bars on my Equal-i-zer hitch with no problem. Our tailgate will not go down with the jack in place, but that will vary with every trailer and tow vehicle combination.Overall I am well pleased.Read more

This was a welcome addition to our recently purchased Jayco camper. Installation is easy enough, 3 bolts and one wire to the battery. These are definitely quieter and smoother than previous generations of Lippert power tongue jacks. I also think maybe they are a bit slower in operation too, which is perfectly ok, as they still allow you to raise and lower the tongue quite quickly…just something I happened to notice about them. If you have a trailer with a manual jack, this is an upgrade I would absolutely recommend. Installation is easy…if you can use a socket wrench, you are good to go.Read more
