Decided to use low voltage leds for outdoor lighting. Purchased Sunvie 12w lights (10 pack) on Amazon with ANOTHER brand of 14/2 cable. Installed really easy and cable separated easily to allow led connectors to be placed on. Decided to buy another 10 lights but couldnt get the same 14/2 cable in time so went with this option instead. Its incredibly difficult to separate the cables to put the connectors in so took alot longer to install and had to wrap and silicone some bare wire that I sometimes accidently revealed. Gave it three stars as it works and does the job, cable seems well insulated from the elements but I wouldnt buy again.Read more

Living in NE MN, when it gets dark at night, it gets dark. I use Patriot lighting along stone pathway (25-30 somewhat meandering yards) so as not to fall over the edge of ledge rock, among other pratfalls. One section of lights went out, so I thought transformer was shot. Purchased a new transformer, that was not the problem. As ground was already a bit on the frozen side, I pulled up embedded old cable, tested sections closer and closer to transformer until I got juice (about 3 feet away) and promptly ordered the Southwire low voltage lighting cable. Problem resolved. Only concern is I can no longer bury the cable so when the snows come, in some areas I’ll have to use caution with shovel and snowblower. Cable appears robust, order arrived promptly, and I am satisfied with product and delivery.Read more

My husband installed over 20 outdoor lights for our pool patio, and after shopping around, this was the best price on cable wire I could find. My husband is an electrician, so he knows his stuff and wanted a good product as well. Fast shipping through Amazon Prime is a plus, as he needed it in a hurry.Read more

This replaced an old wire installed by the former homeowners. It was over 15 years old, and being outside in the North West elements, I replaced it. What a difference. It went in easy and the lights are brighter than they have ever been during the time we have lived here.Read more

I like the more expensive rubbery type that home depot sells to go with their lights (with press-on connectors that pierce the wire through finger force alone). This plastic feeling wire is more difficult to press the connectors into, but it still worked.Read more

I build custom electrical panels for a living. 1 thing you never do is go cheap on wiring. I already have 3 low voltage lights on a 1 set within 15 ft of a transformer. Will be using this wire to run 6 more lights at around 65ft. This wire has proven more durable then most out there. The price is unbeatable here on Amazon, almost $16 more at a big box store for the same exact brand/gauge wire. I live in Wisconsin, so the weather isn’t great all year round. This wire does the trick to hold it’s own in the elements.Read more

We purchased this item to use with the Malibu lighting system. It’s a slightly thicker gauge then the wiring that comes with the Malibu set. At first, we couldn’t get it to work. However, my husband (who has an Associates Degree in electronics) thought the connectors weren’t properly penetrating the wire. Once he slightly shaved the black sheathing, all of the lighting popped on. Ta da!Read more

This great cable and cheaper than going to the big box stores. I didn’t like how hard it was to strip the cable even with top of the line wire strippers. Outside of that…very good cable…I used it to install my landscape lights.Read more
