Perfect enhancement to my 5.1 TV sound system. My previous center channel was just a wide range general purpose speaker. It competed with the main front speakers especially in the voice range. This one makes the voices as clear as a bell. Music is better too, especially the horns. Speaker doesn’t overload even on loud movies. I thinks it’s performance comes from the “3-way” design (vs. a “2-way”). Additionally, the speakers are pointed around a slight curve that distributes the sound in every direction. It was a good investment.Read more

The build of this center channel is great. The sounds that come out are crispy and clean. I love the dual 4 inch midwoofers with a 1 inch tweeter and the super Piezo tweeter. It add great sound at low volume and at loud volume it sounds better. The build structure of it is very well-made. Love the terminals on the speaker they used to so you can use banana plugs if you want something a little bit more. I like the curved look of the speaker. Give more of a aesthetic to it and as well sound distribution. For me one of the best center channel speaker made right now.Read more

So I am not an expert on speakers or sound so as a reg guy listening to my surround sound I got to say it sounds good. Replaced an old center speaker with it and this one sounds better. I am happy with my purchase. Within the last year I replaced the fronts and rears with Dayton book shelf speakers also. So far they sound good and no issues. This can not be mounted suspended from a shelf unless you drill holes in the mounting bracket.Read more

One of the Audio reviewers on CNET has allot of positive reviews about Dayton speakers. I needed a relatively inexpensive center channel for a 5.0 theater system. Spent most the money on the receiver and main LF speakers. This speaker has a pretty good full range sound for its price its outstanding.Read more

Really surprised and pleased with these! They do sound neutral and strike a great balance between furniture maker aesthetics and sound quality. Added the SAT-BK satellites and SUB-1000 to conjoin with the Boston Acoustics Horizon Series mains also with a spec of 89db@1 watt efficiency. This solved a problem of limited (less than 5″ height) mounting options in an otherwise great console style cabinet. The smaller size and incredible price point won over ego and brand loyalty. Also listen to Energy XT and Klipsch Reference HT systems.Read more

Couldn’t be happier, especially at this price point. The quality is great, crystal clear which is so important for a center speaker in a surround sound system. I’m very impressed.Read more

Great middle speaker. I’m driving it with a Pioneer VSX-1021K receiver and I’ve noticed a big different over the samsung speakers I previously had attached. Especially when watching movies with a lot of bass or listening to R&B/hip hop, it seems to lend a richness to the music, especially downbeats. It’s also very reasonably priced. If I had a gripe it would be slightly cheap-feeling build quality, but the performance makes up for it. I highly recommend it!Read more

I’ve got a pretty mismatched 5.1 setup built mainly from speakers I picked up at the thrift store. Apart from the subwoofer ($100) I didn’t spend more than $5 on a single speaker. I bought the Dayton to replace a very muffled center channel speaker since it may be the single most important speaker in the set if you don’t want to have subtitles on all the time. While I am not blown away by the sound, it works and seems to fit my home theater well!I give it 4 stars because it suits my needs and I am satisfied, but I know full-well that I am not getting the kind of fidelity I would get with more expensive equipment. If you are looking for a good center channel speaker at a low price I don’t see any reason not to get this one.Read more
